Proper Breathing! An Easy Technique for Stress Reduction
The easiest and most effective stress reduction technique is based on the simple notion of proper breathing. Most of us are shallow breathers and when we're under stress our breathing becomes even more erratic. If your breathing is deep and controlled, you will immediately reduce hyperalertness. Hyperalertness is a state of stress where you are agitated and you nervous system is overworked. You may go from one thing to another without getting anything done, and sounds and actions may be magnified and annoying.
